2023Jim Hohipa Memorial
Jim Hohipa poker played 13th December 2023

25 players assembled on Wednesday to play the Jim Hohipa poker tournament, A good number of players and some excellent banter before the cards were shuffled.
The previous winners had added pressure with a bounty added to their heads, With the other players all trying to win bounty money unfortunately our previous winners couldn’t hold off the added attention and none made the final table.
After three hours of hard play the final table was assembled and the count down to name the champ was underway.
At some late hour of the evening the winning name was being engraved on the trophy and the prize money was dished out.
Congratulations to Debbie on taking out this fanatic trophy, This is the 6th year of hard play for Deb who was a good friend of Jims and has always wanted her name on this prize. Well played and to you the spoils.
Also in the money were Alan in 2nd and Anthony in 3rd, well played guys.
That was our last poker for this year and play will resume on the 17th of Jan, It also the end of my time in charge of the poker, After a couple of years its time for some new ideas. Thankyou very much to everybody that has helped out and I look forward to playing with you all in the new year.

2023 Club Champs Winner: Dave Flowerdew
Thank you to all that came and tried their skill at the poker club champs on Sat.
We had 28 players on the day and the day started with some friendly banter but then the seats were taken and the poker steers came out.
After five hours we had eight left all of which were in the prize money. We got down to the best three in the room and the big calls and big bets continued until the champ was crowned.
Dave Flowerdew crowned club champ for the third time. He truly is the best player and always features in the big events. Well done and well played. A big well done also goes to our president Steve for giving the champ a good run and coming in 2nd place.
