Top of the Hill Bistro opens on Thursday 14th of May

We are very happy to introduce you to Simon Cuthbert and his "Top of the Hill Bistro" opening at the Johnsonville Club this Thursday.

Simon lives in Tawa and ran the "Top of the Hill Bistro" in The Town and Country Club in Morrinsville. While there, he managed to only get 5 star reviews on Facebook (which is incredibly hard to do)  check them out here:

As Simon is local, it was very lucky for us that he was not enjoying the drive to Morrinsville every week.

Simon is fully qualified and featured in "Hawkes Bay Today" with an innovative signature dish which was accepted for finals in the  Hawkes Bay 'Signature Dish of the Year 2014'.  His talent and drive have led to Simon working in upmarket lodges in New Zealand and as a Private Chef for the Pink Floyd experience, Shapeshifter, Bella Kalola and Hank Marvin.

Come on in and play from Thursday - Lots more open and slightly less rules

From Thursday, while our restaurant will still be open from 5:00 pm (bar snacks will be available before this)  you no longer have to have a meal when you come down and there is no time limit for how long you can stay.  In saying that, customers that have eaten here this last week will know that the meals are fantastic so why not treat yourself to dinner!

The main changes this Thursday, May 21st are:

  • You can be here for longer than two hours  (that ended last Friday)

  • You do not have to have a meal to have a drink.

  • The Gaming machines - We now have our dividers in place so you can enjoy a choice of 17 machines.

  • The Dart Boards - the rules are included in the link below and on the wall at the club, members who do not follow the rules will not be allowed to play

  • The Snooker room -   The Snooker room will only be open while there is an approved Snooker adjunct member present.  They will be there to keep you safe.  I do know that someone will be there tomorrow at 3 pm so play will be allowed from then

  • Top of The Hill Bistro - from 5 pm serving value for money and tasty meals.  See the kids selection on the blackboard

  • TAB - We hope so, but come down and see for yourself or ring first :-)
